Russian “Solidarity” Congress concludes
RUSSIA, Moscow. On December 13, in the Moscow city of Khimki, the Constitutive Congress of the United Democratic movement “Solidarity” was concluded. The creation of the movement was proclaimed, a federal political council was selected, and program documents and statements were confirmed.
The meeting did not adopt the program of the movement “300 Steps Toward Freedom”, in which conventioneers proposed introducing about a thousand revisions. The editorial commission selected at the congress was charged with introducing revisions into the 80 page document and presenting the final version of the program over several months.
Movement regulations were also not adopted. Instead, basic organizational principles were affirmed, which will serve as a basis for developing regulations.
The Federal Political Council was selected by secret voting. The council consists of 39 people: Boris Nemtsov, Vladimir Kara-Murza, Ivan Starikov, Vladimir Milov, Gary Kasparov, Vladimir Bukovsky, Maxim Reznik, Oleg Kozlovsky, Denis Bilunov, Sergey Zhavoronkov, Ilya Yashin, Vladlen Maximov, Alexander Golts, Tatiana Kotlyar, Sergey Gorodilin, Olga Kurnosova, Mark Feygin, Sergey Davidis, Lev Ponomarev, Alexander Boldyrev, Vadim Prokhorov, Alexander Ryklin, Elena Vasilyeva, Alexander Osovtsov, Anton Malyavsky, Nikolai Sorokin, Ivan Chutrin, Yulia Malysheva, Mark Cooperman, Yuri Kurin, Mikhail Schneider, Natalia Evdokimova, Yuri Samodurov, Valerie Bakunin, Nikolai Lyaskin, Alexander Baturin, Roman Dobrokhotov, Stanislav Yakovlev, Aleksey Tabalov.
Immediately after the closing of the congress, the first session of the politsovet was held. The presidium was selected, consisting of Denis Bilunov, Gary Kasparov, Oleg Kozlovsky, Olga Kurnosova, Vladimir Milov, Boris Nemtsov, Maxim Reznik, Alexander Ryklin, Ivan Starikov, Ilya Yashin, Sergey Davidis, Sergey Zhavoronkov and Vladlen Maximov. The next session of the federal politsovet is scheduled for February 13 in Moscow.
