A struggle for civilization
Events in the Middle East are unfolding at a breakneck speed. But one point can be singled out since it has become sort of a symbol. It is a seizure of Jesus’s Christmas Temple in Bethlehem, built on the cite where Jesus Christ was born, according to the legend, by Palestinian rebels. Ukraine Getting Ready to Rehabilitate War Criminals
Ukraine’s prime minister Anatoly Kinakh stated that it’s time to address the issue of rehabilitation of veterans of Ukrainian nationalist groups. Deputies of the Ivano-Frankovsk municipal council instantly backed the prime minister and without wasting any time decided to equate 24 combatants from the Ukrainian division “SS Galichina,” residing in their town of Ivano-Frankovsk, with WWII veterans, awarding them all due social benefits and higher pension allowances. But after the Russian foreign ministry issued a note of protest, calling this move “disgraceful and traitorous with respect to the memory of millions of peaceful Soviet citizens,” the local deputies did not dare to ratify this resolution. Full Story...

Forty years this March France and Algiers signed the so called Evian agreements, which put an end to the many-years war between the countries. In 1962, French president Charles de Gaulle urged by the outcome of a referendum in Algiers took a decision to grant this French colony independence.

Mass Rallies in South Kyrgyzstan
It appears that the public anger and discontent have crumpled the trial of MP Azimbek Beknazarov opened on March 11 in the Toktogul district court in Kyrgyzstan. No fewer than 2000 supporters of the oppositionist deputy gathered for mass rallies in the Toktogul and Ak-Syi districts of Dzhalal-Abad region. Kurds remember victims of the chemical attack
In many countries, Iraqi Kurds’ communities are holding actions to commemorate the 14th anniversary of the Iraqi forces’ chemical attack upon the town of Halabja in the north of Iraq. On March 16, 1988, during the Iraqi-Iranian War Halabja was bombarded by Iraqi aircraft. The Iraqi regime then accused Kurds of sympathizing with its enemy.
